Can I be service connected for hearing loss or ringing in my ears?

At some point in their career, most veterans were exposed to noise conditions which may lead to permanent hearing loss or tinnitus (ringing in the ears). The recent 3M lawsuit has highlighted that even if you were wearing proper hearing protection, it may not have been sufficient to protect you. Tinnitus also frequently leads to secondary service-connections, as it may disturb sleep patterns or daily functioning.
